Let’s face it, choosing a paint color for the interior of your home isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Some may say it’s super easy, but if you’re like me, and have a vision…it’s not. I had a great idea a few years ago and decided to paint a large wall in my great room a dark blue. The color was beautiful, even after I applied the color to the wall I loved it. But, once the wall was painted, and the surrounding walls around it painted in a different shade of blue, that color turned into PURPLE! As the sun crosses over our home, the lighting in that great room changes. There are 6 windows, 2 on each of the 3 exterior walls. As the light filters through, that wall changes from a dark blue to purple. I remember my first reaction…”THAT’S NOT THE COLOR I CHOSE!!!”. Oh, but it was.
There are so many things to consider when choosing a paint color…so searched online to see what I could find. There are some great articles out there, but I referenced two here for you to read. One article talks about inspiration and the mood you ultimately want to create, the other is a question and answer from a designer. I don’t know about you, but I need to think about new colors for the interior of my home…and now is the best time to do it:)
